Were they Preventable?

Quick show of hands: how many of you have seen a coworker suffer a serious injury on the job? Now, how many of you have been seriously injured on the job? Hopefully, not as many!

Now, let’s ask the final question: how many of those accidents do you believe were NOT preventable? Take a moment to think about it. If you said “none,” then you’re correct! All accidents can be prevented.

While we can’t avoid humanity’s tendency for mistakes, we can do better to prevent injuries on the worksite. The first step is to work together. Upper management, middle management, and all employees need to collaborate to create a safer environment.

As we enter the holiday season, let’s keep safety in mind. Always wear proper PPE and use the right techniques when handling tools and machinery. Make sure to follow the operators’ manuals’ directions, and, most importantly, look out for one another.

At the end of the day, it’s up to all of us to make safety a priority. Let’s make this holiday season one that everyone can enjoy by working together to ensure that nobody gets hurt on the job.

Employee QuickTip

Hard to believe, the hoilday season is already here. Take this time to enjoy family and friends and please make it a safe one at work and at home.

Employer/Management QuickTip

I know it’s a short week, but don’t rush things to a point that you compromise safety. If you’ve been reading over the years, I had a client whose foreman made a poor choice to try and get home for Thanksgiving early.  He never made it to another holiday celebration.

Keep everyone safe this holiday season, including yourself.
